This Spring the Marriott Pleasanton will receive the Business Philanthropy Award from the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce.
Receiving this award is as a result of creating a positive impact in their community through their business and community goals. Marriott Pleasanton partners with local businesses and nonprofit organizations to assist in creating revenue that sustains business growth within the Tri-Valley.
Specifically, the property is committed to hiring local candidates and those who face unique challenges both locally and across the world. Through their partnership with the International Rescue Committee they have successfully placed incoming refugees in their first job in the United States, introduced them to Pleasanton, and assisted them with the challenges that come with moving to a new country.
Marriott Pleasanton also partners with the Pleasanton Unified School District’s special needs program, Workability. This program helps local Pleasanton students with special needs by providing them with jobs that assist them with invaluable work skills as well as helping to gain practical life skills.
Additionally, Marriott Pleasanton prides itself on its corporate CARE initiative, a program that supports and honors their first responders The Management teams visit local Police Departments and Fire Stations to provide them with well-deserved thank you notes and appreciated goodies.
The staff also volunteers their time and services to the the Open Heart Kitchen and Shepard’s Gate to serve those in their community who are less fortunate, while also sponsoring the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life and also actively participates in with the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Program, Youth Professionals and Board of Directors.
